MiKiDo Foundation

Our History

The MiKiDo Youth Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia, under the guidance of the Hess, family has been assisting  local and international communities and charities since 1984.

The Hess family started locally by organizing fundraising activities such as martial arts demonstrations, food drives, community self defense seminars,  collecting donations (can food, medical supplies,  clothes, school supplies) to assist many organizations over the years such as:

  • Homeless shelter,
  • C Rape Crisis Center,
  • Cystic Fibrosis,
  • Diabetes Foundation,
  • Alexandria City and Community Programs,
  • Fairfax Country community programs,
  • Women Centers,
  • Alternative House now known as Second Story

More than 40 years later, the MiKiDo Foundation is continuing with their community service. With the support of Master Brent Hess and the MiKiDo family, we have been able to host self-defense seminars, support the Fairfax County Big Brother program and develop a youth program thats supports the MiKiDo Team.

Today, we continue to support the Washington D.C. community with youth programs, self-defense seminars for women and other charity programs. We continue to sponsor a senior citizen center and an orphanage in Ecuador, along with working with helping a group of homeless girls and donating to various groups in Central and South America.

Our vision is to continue educating, guiding, and inspiring all who seek positive change in their lives. We are responsible, accountable, respectful, effective, and efficient. We value honesty, integrity and openness in all we do.
